Terrific success of the Call for Papers!

The Call for Papers of the Conference City Futures ’09 has been a terrific success. More than 400 proposals of papers and panels have been submitted, including more than 650 authors and co-authors, coming from 50 countries. The Local Host Committee thanks the EURA and UAA boards for their cooperation disseminating the Conference and stimulating a large participation.


Registration opened on 15 January 2009

The registration at the website of the Conference opened on 15 January 2009.


Communication of the acceptance of proposals

By 31 January 2009 acceptance/rejection notice will be sent by email.


Publication of the accepted proposals

A full list of the accepted proposals will be published at the website of the Conference (news) by 9 February 2009.


Meeting of the Local Host Committee

A meeting of the Local Host Committee of the Conference City Futures ’09 will be held on 16 February 2009, in order to coordinate important aspects of the Conference logistics and to design the draft program.


Presentation Guidelines for all Panes

Simple and clear presentation guidelines for all papers have been added to the website.


Award “Madrid City Futures”

The Office of International Strategy and Action of the City hall of Madrid, “Madrid Global”, has created an award for the best paper on Madrid submitted to the Conference. The rules of this Award have been published at the website of the Conference.


Publication of the Provisional Program of the Conference

On 30 March 2009 a provisional program of the Conference has been published at the Conference’s website. All persons at the program shall register no later than 15 April.

The final Program will be published by 30 April excluding the no registered proponents.


Institutional panels

By 25 April a set of Institutional Panels (UN, EUROCITIES, ALC, Spanish Central Administration, City Hall of Madrid, …) will be added to the Program of the Conference.
